9-month update

A post about Halloween is coming soon, but since Jed turned 9 months old before Halloween, I thought I would do this first.  Jed is still cruising everywhere, but still won't stand without holding on to something.  He loves to walk around holding on to Scott's fingers, or mine, but when we try to get him to let go he immediately sits down.  He's very funny - he LOVES to be thrown around, hung upside down, swinging on swings, going down slides, with no evidence of fear or hesitation.  But if he is standing and holding on to our fingers, and we loosen his grip on just one of our fingers, he has a mild panic attack and won't move until he has something to hold on to with both hands again.  Silly baby.

Jed at-a-glance:
-Jed is about 20lbs, almost 29 inches long, and 50 tons of joy.  He is now officially too long for his infant car seat, to my chagrin - I was hoping to keep him in the one we have until we could turn him to face forward and could get a high-back booster instead of a convertible seat.

-Jed still loves the cat more than anything else - that hasn't changed!

-He has recently learned the joys of unrolling the toilet paper, and taking his socks off.  I'm less excited about these things than he is.

-This past week, he recently started babbling very differently than before - instead of saying single syllables, like "da-da-da" or "tsk tsk tsk", he strings lots of varying sounds together and puts inflections into it.  So it sounds like this:
"Gobskle yptdembrft, pstlkdetma. Aaaaaaaabth! Forskgabhurth bwah."
Approximately. There's a video at the end of this post kind of showing it.

-He LOVES to play "chase", but isn't very good at it.  He will chase us all around the house, but if we try to chase him, he laughs and crawls full speed straight at us.  It's rather ineffective.

Here are some pictures:

Vampire Baby found the toilet paper

What's more fun than a cardboard box?

Oh, MOM! Stop kissing me!

He doesn't look it here, but he loves bath time.

My cute little ghost!
The onesie was made by Grannie.

This is his new favourite place to crawl through.  He will go in circles
around and around the blue couch just so he can come through here.

Grandma Albrecht gave us a pile of Christmas presents to hold on to,
and Jed loves to play in them.  He probably likes them better now
than he will once they are opened!

This video is fairly representative of how Jed behaves almost every time he wakes up, either in the morning, or from a nap.  He is usually very happy!  And he loves to bounce in his crib.
