10-month update

Jed turned 10 months old just after Thanksgiving - time is going by so fast!  He continues to crawl, cruise, babble, laugh, bounce, dance, and be generally adorable.

Jed's favourite things to play with:
-Our 2 small saucepans.  He will sit on the kitchen floor for a solid half hour, dragging them back and forth and banging them on the floor.  On occasion he puts things inside the pots, but mostly he just bangs them around.

-Books.  He doesn't sit very still on my lap when I try to read books to him, but he will pull a couple board books off of the shelf and sit by himself for 20 minutes+.  He loves to turn a book over and over, opening and closing it multiple times in succession, sometimes trying to eat it by opening his mouth as wide as he can and pulling the book flat up against his face (this is rather ineffective).  And more often than not, he will "read" the book upside down.  Oh, well - it's a start.

-His train.  Jed has a train engine that plays music and flashes some lights, and he LOVES it.  If I press one of the buttons to make the music start, he will break out into a big smile and crawl across the room as fast as he can to play with it.  Jed loves to crawl around with it, crawling with one hand and pushing the train with the other.  He occasionally has a problem, though, when he picks up one of his hands and has all of his weight on the train - and proceeds to fall on his face as the train slips out from underneath him.

-His bouncer that hangs from the doorway.  He will spend a good 20 or 30 minutes happily jumping by himself, though he generally prefers when Scott or I talk to him while he jumps.  I'm always amazed at how long he can jump without seeming to get tired!

-The piano.  Though he mostly likes to try to rip apart my sheet music (until I take it away), he also loves to bang on our digital keyboard.  Since he can just reach the keys standing, sometimes he will try playing it when it is turned off - and get upset when it doesn't work.

He has started climbing on top of things.  He is not usually taller than the couch...

Since he loves to climb on top of and over things, sometimes I make obstacle courses in the living room.

Fun days at the park!  Jed loves to climb the stairs and loves to slide down the slide.
I love that face!!!  He's not actually scared of the swings, but I caught a pretty good moment on camera!
