Fall was filled with activities, as many as the summer (just without all the traveling). Some of the best: playing at the park, going to Air and Space II, going to the zoo, painting, hay rides, camping, playing in the rain, making shapes out of pancakes, family coming to visit, playing with train tracks, working, going to the zoo again, the stake youth Halloween dance, storytime at the library, going on walks and collecting pinecones, playdates, making blanket forts, and more zoo visits, of course!
For several weeks before Halloween, Jed didn't want to be anything. He cried and cried anytime I asked him what he wanted to dress up as, exclaiming, "I don't want to wear somebody ELSE'S clothes, I just want to wear Jed's clothes! Can I just be Jed?" About a week beforehand, though, he suddenly decided he wanted to have a tractor costume. In fact, he told me that Grandma Albrecht had sent him one and it was on its way in the mail. So I made him one out of duct tape and cardboard, and it turned out really cute! At the ward trunk-or-treat, Jed's response to anyone who commented on what an awesome tractor he was, was, "I am not a tractor. I am a boy, wearing a tractor."
We spent Thanksgiving at my dad's farm in Virginia again this year (technically, Thanksgiving dinner was at Charles' place, Cardinal Ridge, down the road. But we actually stayed at Cattail Hollow). We could only stay about 24 hours, as I had tech rehearsal on Friday morning. The snow wasn't ideal to drive in, but wasn't terrible and looked beautiful when we arrived at the farm!
