I don't have many pictures from today, as we spent most of the day in the car. Tuesday morning, we packed up and left our cabins in Babb, Montana, heading south toward Logan. We stayed in cabins a little bit north of Dillon, MT that night, and actually reached Logan the next day.
Before we left, I saw some wild horses in the stream right behind our cabins (which, by the way, was freezing - but which I had bathed in anyway, because after a couple of days the owner of the cabins said there wasn't enough water for showers and I hadn't had a shower since leaving DC).
Leslie had some trouble taking down the pop-up camper, so we were a little later leaving that morning than we had planned. I was trying to keep Jed awake for a little while, until we got into the car and drove away, but he couldn't stay awake as long as it ended up being. So he fell asleep on Cassy's shoulder:
I rode with Leslie in her van, and though we had to scream, wave frantically, and finally get in front of Scott's dad driving the camper to tell him that a cord was hanging down and about to get caught in the wheel, the drive was otherwise uneventful. We stopped for lunch at a KFC, and visited the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. I wish we had had more time to see the museum, because it was very well organized and had a lot of interesting information and fun displays. The kids filled out some papers to become Junior Explorers, and thought it was great.
We had leftovers at the cabins for dinner, Jed played on the bed with a couple of his cousins while I got his pajamas and bedtime bottle ready, and Jed pretty quickly went to bed. I took a VERY welcome hot shower and then collapsed into bed myself. Day One without my husband was a success!
